Cites Rome as a city destroyed by overexpansion and Amsterdam as an old city that has retained human values through regulation of waterways and land. COSMIC ZOOM An animated film that uses a boy rowing down a river as a departure point to take the viewer off our planet, through the solar system, and out towards the farthest reaches of space. The camera then returns through space to the boy in the boat and further within, to the smallest particle within a blood cell in his hand. Excellent. THE CRITIC What we see is a short contemporary abstract art film. What we hear is the constant complaint and sarcasm of an unseen member of the audience (the voice of Mel Brooks, who created the film) as he watches the film with us. This animation provides a focus on contemporary art and the role of criticism.
