These trips usually take place on either the first or second Thursday and Friday of each month. For the months of January through March 1986, the interviews are scheduled to be held at Burnaby Mental Health Centre on the Thursday afternoon and at the Public Service Commission in downtown Vancouver on the Friday morning; for the months of April through December 1986, they are scheduled to be held at the Ministry of Transportation and Highways Regional Office in Burnaby. The main objective of these visits is to provide personal counselling to employees who are contemplating retirement within the next year or two. However, the Superannuation Commission is also prepared to schedule interviews with employer representatives to discuss various features of the pension plans and the Commission policies and procedures.
