OPEN HOUSE SPECIAL EVENTS
By now most departments have organized their special events for the week
of the OPEN HOUSE and we have advertised our Open House in as many places
as the budget would allow - including daily newspapers and on the radio.
All that remains now is for the public to attend!.'
Two special events are planned for Open House this year. The Student

Society is organizing a Forum to discuss privatization which will be held
in Room 240 on Wednesday, March 14 from 14:00 to 15:00. Forum
participants will include Lorne Thomson from the Ministry of Education,
Vance Goch from Mohler Hairdressing, a representative from Blanche
MacDonald, and the Chairman of the Hairdressing Program Advisory
Committee, Mr. Eric Hesselmann.

The second event is the Wednesday night opening of the facilities for the
Hospitality and Tourism Industry conducted by the Minister of Tourism,
Mr. Claude Richmond.

"WI--LEARNING A LIVING".
Let's make this a memorable event.

WI DINING ROOM LIBRARY
Just in time for the Open House . . .

The College Board recently approved the naming of the WI Dining Room as
J.J. 's, in honour of the late Mr. J.J. Nowacki. The signs may not be up

by Wednesday, but at least in spirit we will know that the Dining Room
has been officially named.

V.I.A. SHOP STEWARDS
The Vice-President of the V.I.A., Mr. Mike Olfield, advises that the
V.I.A. Board of Directors has appointed Ms. Jackie Sandy as Shop Steward
and Mr. Karl Gregg as Assistant Shop Steward at the V.V.I. Their
appointed counterparts at King Ed are Mr. Nic Morelli as Shop Steward,
and Ms. Margaret Nelson as Assistant Shop Steward. Congratulations to

all!

The Dental Auxiliary Department is pleased to announce the first

graduating class of Dental Receptionists! This four month program will
graduate twenty dental receptionists at the end of March.

An animated parable which illustrates the modern predicament of
running out of non-renewable resources.. J.B. Edwards travels west and
creates a fuel company called Consolidated Dragons. The company

profits take a plunge when the dragon supply begins to dry up. A
solution has to be found.

CATTLE RANCH
The life of a cowboy, filmed through the seasons on the Douglas Lake
Ranch near Kamloops. With music by Pete Seeger, and narration by
Frances Hyland. Presents a vivid picture of the open range where the
cowboy is king.
