And many thanks to all involved!! JS HOLLYWOOD HERE WE COME You probably noticed the movie cameras around campus and that we experienced a temporary name change to the 'Anderson Technical Institute1. Well the movie being filmed on location was "Stranger in My Bed" starring Lindsay Wagner, and as well as the outside shots, the ninth floor Nursing Wards and the recently renovated Room 161 (formerly Welding) were used. The film is a 'made-for-television' movie and should be airing this fall sometime. As well, George Clark would like to thank everyone for their tooperation in adjusting to the break in routine. BLOOD DONOR CLINIC Again the VVI Blood Donor Clinic was a success and a grateful and sincere thank you to all who showed up to donate. GBC STAFF UPDATE * Janet Corns will be returning to work June 2 as Mrs. Janet Edwards. Congratulations and welcome back! * And Raj Bhatti has already returned to work as Mrs. Raj Cheema and it's good to have you with us again too, Raj. * Another face that we have missed for a while is John Vandenakker who is now 'back' into the swing of things. * Don't look for Charise Bryan working in the Registration/Records area after June 2 — she will be filling in at Financial Aid for awhile. (Do you have some interesting news about a staff member that we should know about or recognize? Forward your tidbits to the VVInsider by Wednesday afternoons.) QUOTE OF THE WEEK Everyone is a damn fool for at least five minutes everyday. mmouvER Wisdom consists in not exceeding the limit. COMMUNITY 0 Vancouver Vocational Institute / LIBRARY FILMS Summer is here and the Library Film Series will end June 24 . . . with a whole new series beginning in September. Film for June 10 . . . THE DEVIL AND DANIEL MOUSE Jan is a young folk-singing mouse who sells her soul to the Devil in exchange for pop star fame and fortune. Riding high as "Funky Jan", queen of the disco beat, she neglects her old friend and former partner Daniel, etc, etc. Film for June 17 . . .THE DAY WE BEAT THE RUSSIANS In 1955, the Penticton Vees won the World Hockey Championship Cup. This documentary tells of the three Warwick brothers, and their rise from humble beginnings, when they used to practice hockey with homemade sticks and road apples, to their peak in Europe and their subsequent decline. Interviews with the three brothers tell a story of hockey and human drama. Films for June 24 . . . HOPPITY POP An animated film in which color shapes dance to calliope music. A Norman McLaren film. THE TWITCH An award-winning animated cartoon about intolerance and where it all ends. The illustrations and dialogue are light and amusing, but that does not mask the moral of the story: that unless we tolerate individual differences - even the king's nervous twitch - then peace may only come when all are behind bars. A TOKEN GESTURE An amusing animation film that gently pokes fun at the stereotyped attitudes that are applied to the sexes. ONE POSSIBLE REASON WHY THINGS AREN'T GOING? ACCORDING TO PL-AN IS THAT THERE NEVER WAS A PLAN. gfiSoOfe • • • • or- *— 14 -^uvx&irCi.vSCr" ^otS tLt deef «vs^\ It \aol{ccl >iAli ck^K^'iin^ C4.r££-1~& -Doe. Wi/f X Cun^-f p
