INCOMING TELEPHONE CALLS I have been receiving complaints from outside callers that some incoming telephone calls to the switchboard are either not being asnwered, or all incoming lines are busy. I believe that the main reason for this is due to the numerous requests the switchboard operators receive to screen calls for departments. Screening calls takes up a great deal of the operator's time and results in a back up of incoming calls to the switchboard. The operator is responsible for processing incoming calls to the departments as quickly as possible and does not have the time to screen calls, therefore, it must be the department's responsibility to screen their own calls! The goat and sheep at 20 die, And never taste scotch and rye. The cow drinks water by the ton, And at 18 is mostly done. The dog at 15 cashes in Without the aid of rum and gin. The cat in milk and water soaks And then, in 12 short years it croaks. The modest, bone-dry hen Lays eggs for nogs, then dies at ten. All animals are strictly dry; They are sinless, live and swiftly die. But sinful, ginful, rum-soaked men and women Survive for three-score years and ten; And some of them, a very few, Stay pickled till they're 92! ES
