Moira Macleod Vice President, Academic and Developmental Programs October 26th, 2001 Page 3 Response to the VCC Books of Condolences Dear Mr, Dorn, Thank you for your condolences in this time of national tragedy in the United States. We at the Consulate have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of heartfelt sympathy from the people of British Columbia, the Yukon and indeed all of the Canada in the wake of the horrific events that occurred on September 11th. We have also been extremely gratified by the level of assistance and support the United States has received from both the people of Canada and_ all levels of the Canadian government ?- In this time of national tragedy, it is reassuring to know that we have such excellent friends and neighbours. On behalf of President Bush, the U.S. Consulate and the people o f the United States, thank you once again for your sympathy and concern. New Employee Orientation Our next New Employee Orientation is planned for Thursday, November 8, 2001. We hope to provide new (and maybe not-so-new) employees with a general under¬ standing of the VCC organization and perhaps match a few faces with names. The day begins at KEC with intro¬ ductions and a tour, then we move to CC for a delicious lunch at Four Corners Campus Cafe, a few more introductions, a lucrative scavenger hunt, and the day ends with a chance to chat with your union representative. If you do not receive an invitation but would like to attend the orienta¬ tion as a "relatively new employee", please contact Roseanne Ashworth at 443-8313. If space permits, we will include your name. As always, we are receiving a great deal of co-operation and as¬ sistance from many individuals and departments, for which we say a great big thank you. Your contribu¬ tions help to make the employee orientation a worthwhile and enjoyable event.
