Customers have continuosly given us positive feedback on this innovative and welcome addition to the already existing services at City Center. The Second Cup Cappuccino cart is a cost recovery venture with projected profits to benefit the campus. The appeal of this endeavour is not only that it generates much needed revenue but also that it is owned by Vancouver Community College, managed and operated by the Food Services Department at City Center. Undoubtedly, this is a dramatic approach to managing and generating revenue in a College setting. However, it will set us aside as leaders in "managing for profit in difficult times". The Second Cup Cappuccino cart has proven to be a success story at every location it has been implemented. This success has been widely proven in 132 retail outlets throughout Canada and lately more predominately in health care and educational settings. At Wilfred Laurier University, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto General Hospital and Sick Children's Hospital (Vancouver) to name a few. The Second Cup Cappuccino Cart has been a resounding success. A very tangible opportunity exists for Vancouver Community College to enjoy the same success. The Second Cup Cappuccino cart is one of the various enterprises undertaken by the Food Services Department at City Center to generate revenue and expand already existing services. These actions include the provision of catering, vending and the expansion of food and beverage choices in the cafeteria. The Second Cup Cappuccino bar has given employment oportunities to both VMREU employees and City Center students. During stressful times it may be nice to just sit back and smell the coffee. "So please come out and have a dry cappuccino or a tall latte at our cappuccino bar".
