VVINSEDER: VOLUME 7: NUMBER 8: APRIL 27/89 WHO'S NEW AT V.V.I. CAROL FRANCIS has transferred from KEC to help bail out the Financial Aid Department. Carol' s work with the College has included stints at Langara, KEC, and VVI, most recently in KEC's Financial Aid Department. If you haven't already met Carol please drop by during the less hectic morning hours and say hello to her. THIS CAMPUS HAS SOME REALLY NICE PEOPLE DEPARTMENT ROSEANNE ASHWORTH, a former VVI business student, and now SydHartley's new secretary (after an apprenticeship with Dick Strachan and Dana Fister, and a trial by fire as one of the leading lights of the VVI Day Committee), has recently donated $200 to the VVI Bursary fund. Most bursary donations seem to come when someone retires or dies...Roseanne, however, is giving her bursary at the start of her career! Roseanne tells us that when she was a student in the Legal Secretary program at VVI she received a $200 bursary which she feels she is now repaying. THANKS TO EVERYONE The B.C. Children's Hospital has written to thank all the VVI employees who donated to the United Way and for designating the Children's Hospital as one of the agencies to receive funding. AND A WONDERFUL TIME WAS HAD BY ALL... The VVI Day Evaluation Sheets continue to come in, and the overwhelming response so far seems to be that it was a great success. With a few exceptions most of the workshops rated quite highly, the lunch (despite the delay) got a lot of rave reviews, and the Elaine Bernard's opening speech received all sorts of praise. The general consensus seems to be that VVI Day should definitely be held annually!
