Meeting format will include a presentation by City staff on the study's findings, followed by small-group discussion. Following these meetings. The program has been established to provide an opportunity for British Columbia public postsecondary students to gain a better understanding of the cultures, economies and languages of Asian countries. The British Columbia Asia Pacific Students' Awards will provide scholarships for outstanding British Columbia public post-secondary students to permit attendance in a formal and rigorous program of) educational study overseas. A budget will be set annually by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Training and Technology for the British j Columbia Asia Pacific Students' Awards Program. The awards will be administered through the British Columbia Centre for International Education and will be adjudicated by a committee representing the British J Columbia public post-secondary system. Conditions 1) To be eligible for the British Columbia Asia Pacific Students' Awards, the applicant must be: ^ a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant; *+ a British Columbian resident; and, enrolled in full-time study, with a demonstrated high level of competency, at a British Columbian | public community college or provincial institute. 2) Individuals are encouraged to utilize existing linkages between British Columbian and overseas J institutions, whenever possible. 3) Awards will be in predetermined amounts according to the country of study and are intended to be applied towards travel and living expenses.
