Editor's note: The following recipe submitted by a colleague at B.C. Housing & Management Commission whose nickname is "The Loadmaster" is not intended to encourage the destruction or consumption of elephants. It's a joke! Elephant Stew 1 large elephant 1 ton of salt 1 ton of pepper 1000 pounds of potatoes 2000 pounds of carrots 4000 sprigs of parsley Cut elephant into little pieces. This will take about two months. Cut veggies into cubes, another two months. Place the meat in a giant pan and cover with 1000 gallons of gravy. Simmer for 4 weeks. Shovel in the salt and pepper to taste. When the meat is tender add veggies (a steam shovel would be handy here). Simmer for another month. Serves about 3800 people, with no calories at all and keeps well in the freezer. Today's tip: Don't give the elephant bones to the dog because they are far to large for him to bury.
