The Diversity Tile Wall Mural lANNER STUDENT continues to be a huge success with everyone who has participated. Students, employees and people from outside of the College have completed over 300 tiles. If you have not painted a tile yet, don't despair because the project will continue until there are enough tiles to make two huge murals on diversity - one for the City Centre campus and one for KEC. Challenge yourself and others in the community to create a visual statement expressing the value you place on diversity. It is not only a chance to have your statement on permanent display, but to also have some fun! Materials can be booked for groups wishing to paint at a time convenient to them, by calling either Delia at 871-7016 (KEC) or Karen at 443-8315 (CC). Painting is also available on a drop-in basis at KEC on Friday afternoons in room 4001 and at CC on Wednesday afternoons in the Mall. If you would like additional information or to view some of the painted tiles after they have been glazed and fired in a kiln, contact Rob Henderson at 871-7040. we ALL belong! Some suggestions are to: * Request signage from the Health and Safety Coordinator for your work area that asks people to respect your sensitivities to perfumes and other similar products and refrain from using them at work Notice to All Department Heads *Talk with your co-workers and colleagues about your strong reaction to If you are making changes to scents. Let them know you would really appreciate their support by not using scented products in the workplace courses or programs that will require * Find comfortable ways to convey your message. To say that a smell offends me can be misinterpreted as a personal attack. Instead, try: I'm really having a strong reaction to your perfume and I need to ask that we meet later when you've had a chance to reduce/remove it. Please know that my response is in no way a personal one. My system simply can't tolerate these scents.
