These programs typically involve four years of full-time study. Associate Degree Earn a standalone credential or a solid foundation for upper-level university programs in as few as two years (p. 20). Diploma Get in-depth training and hands-on experience, becoming job-ready in two years. Some diplomas can be used as credit towards VCC degree programs. Certificate Gain technical knowledge and experience that you can apply immediately in the workplace. Most full-time certificates can be completed in less than one year. Many certificates can be used as credit towards VCC diplomas. Apprenticeship Earn a B.C. trade certificate through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom learning. Most apprenticeships take four years to complete, with 80 per cent of your time spent working and earning an income (p. 33). University Transfer Start your university journey by taking first- and second-year arts, science, and/or engineering courses in small, supportive classes at VCC. Credits can be transferred to post-secondary institutions across British Columbia (p. 20). Academic Upgrading Earn a high school diploma or individual credits to use as prerequisites for programs at VCC or other institutions.
