SHIRLEY JOSEPH APPOINTED COORDINATOR, NATIVE EDUCATION Acting President Ross Carter, is pleased to announce the appointment of Shirley Joseph as Coordinator, Native Education, effective June 3rd, 1991. She is located at King Edward Campus. This new position is funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Training and Technology in response to the B.C. Government's "Access For All" initiative. The objective of the initiative is to bring the post-secondary education participation of Canada's Native population to the national average by 1995. Joseph's responsibilities include program planning and development, assisting the College in accommodating the needs of Native students and facilitating their successful transition to the College. She has worked with Native Indian communities and organizations in the fields of education, employment and business development for more than twenty years. Before assuming her new position, Joseph was a consultant with Aboriginal Management Consultants. She holds a diploma in Business Administration from Capilano College.
